A lender reversed their decline decision! Natalie Barlow, Managing Director, demonstrates the advantages of using a mortgage broker when it comes to decision principles and reasons why lenders may decline or refer you at decision in principle stage. In most cases, clients will walk away from a decline and possibly be completely confused as to why that was their outcome. Although under GDPR they are limited in what they can tell us, as a broker we have access to lenders to challenge their decision. They may say something along the lines of they should check their credit report. We can work with our clients on this and if we feel it’s minor, we can go through the appeals process to see of we can get the decision overturned. No isn’t always no!
